My story
I have been working as an expert in food and agriculture for more than 20 years. I was part of various expert panels, led European consortia and engaged with the actors of our food system. I come from a farming family. My grandfather was an ‘agricultural entrepreneur’ avant la lettre. I enjoy the dialogue with (young) farmers, and I try to contribute to a constructive food debate.
Because the bow doesn’t always have to be drawn, I made plenty of time for my passion: long-distance running. I grew from a recreational jogger to an ambitious marathon runner. Shared joy is double joy. And so I already guided a number of people in preparation for running races.

I am a jack-of-all-trades, enthusiastic and positive. Yet it took a long time before I dared to throw myself into the public debate with full conviction A persistent eating disorder was at the root of this brake on my joy. Running has helped me unlock that brake. It gave me the courage to share my opinion and enjoy life to the fullest
Life is too short for sludge. This is a quote in Bart Moeyaert’ poem ‘The miracle of good coffee’. I am happy to share that message. That’s why I write and speak with great enthusiasm about my passions: agriculture, nutrition and running.
